Charlotte Huskins That was my grandmother. Apparently, she heard a little boy crying outside her gate ’cause she was in the house, and she walked in there. And his mom was staying out there with him, and she told her. She said, “If you want him, you keep him. He said, ‘If you don’t, you send him on down the road.’ He said, “Down the road she went.” Said he had a little backpack on. He said, “In the backpack, he had his birth certificate, all his important papers and stuff, and she just kept him and raised him.
