This interview is excerpted from an interview conducted in Rushville in August 20226 with Owen and Marlene Davis

Owen Davis: Well, a sign out into town said our roots run deep. 

Marlene Davis: Pretty. 

Owen Davis: The Legion Post is named after my great uncle. He was the first person from Sheridan County that was killed in World War One. Henry Davis. 

Shyanne Bellamy: I know as I was riding in to the town, there’s a lot of military photos around. Is your grandfather included?

Marlene Davis: These are all recent living ones that are around up there now. Our son is on one of the posts, but no, we don’t. I don’t think we have any other relatives with their pictures up there because these are all the living that they have on posts now, and then the other what is the other the other day that they put up all those that were from here that were deceased. Is it this one’s for Memorial Day and that one’s Labor Day or something. There’s, they do it two different times anyway.
