Any farmer could tell the weather just by their intuition and by looking at the clouds. I mean, our parents, they didn’t have the technology that is available now.

My dad knew when a bad thunderstorm or whatever was coming.

I remember going to the basement once, and being a little afraid when dad was concerned about a tornado coming. But that was just how it was–they knew the land and all of the weather conditions that made their crops grow and also the storms that could threaten their livelihood for the summer……..and THAT grain, corn and hay would support them throughout the upcoming year.
