We went to town

Gathering:

Prompt: What is something that used to be in your community, but is no longer here?

Oh yeah, we went to town. They are having a deal in town today. We went yesterday, then we went back today. But all the stores that I remember going to: Lacy Johnson, Ben Banksy’s, the Old Country Store, and the hardware store in town. (I can’t think of its name right now, I’m having a senior moment), but that’s where we went and got our stuff, but now we all didn’t go as a family and go, you know. Daddy and maybe whatever boy was big enough to drive the old truck. That’s about as far as we went.

Now that’s a first cousin. Yes, Lord Jeff. Hey, I hadn’t saw him here. That’s his daddy there. Yeah.

Oh, hey, we done we done hooked up down there, and I we hugged each other just like, and I told my wife that see, she’s the one said, “I want to go. You want to go?” I said, “Well, yeah, I’ll go with you.”

And I’ve had more fun than she had. See, I’ve loved it, I’ve loved it y’all. Lord, this is this. See, I would have never saw them guys and my distant kin. No, and a lot of his daddies is gone, like mine, and all my grandfather. He’s married three times, and he had two sets of kids. So most of them is all past now gone.
