Marie Watt’s gathering builds on community conversations around Turtle Island, a teaching central to the creation story and cosmology of the Haudenosaunee in partnership with Ganondagan and the White Corn Project. Marie is collaborating with Jeanette Jemison, Mohawk, of the Snipe Clan.

About the Artist

Marie Watt (b. 1967) is a member of the Turtle Clan of the Seneca Nation of Indians whose interdisciplinary practice draws on Haudenosaunee teachings, community, and storytelling. Working across printmaking, painting, textiles, and sculpture, she creates multigenerational spaces for dialogue through sewing circles, community-built sculptures, and crowd-sourced participation.
